Lecco, Italy: An active drug trafficker in dark web and real work goes by the name ‘Kriminale’ in deep web who was reported for years by US authorities was arrested by the Lecco police as a part of Investigation about the illegal operations.
Totally 5 men were arrested – 3 Italians, an Albanian, and a south American were arrested by police to obscure illegal products, narcotics, weapons, forged documents, fake money, unauthorized Softwares for hacking and cloned credit cards.
The illegal operations that were taking place through the deep web portal of Italian Darknet Community(IDC).
On Friday Morning not only the arrests were made but around 50 raids were made across the country revealing numerous buyers of the illicit market. The survey exposed mostly young and in some cases, even minors were involved.
Head of the squad of Lecco Marco Cadeddu said: “We conducted the survey of the so-called darknet, supported by technical activities and use of undercover agents”.
During the survey, they were able to identify sites and forums that lie under the cover of deep web offering various kinds of drugs like cocaine, heroin, hashish, synthetic drugs, weapons, forged documents, accounts of e-commerce sites that accepts anonymous unidentifiable payments, and systems to create virus to infect the computers for threatening and blackmail the victims.
The arrested was charged with various offenses linked to International Drug Trafficking. An Italian living in Bergamo was in charge of the alleged “clandestine banker” organization, which exchanges euro to bitcoins was also charged with money laundering and unlawful practice of financial intermediation.
The head of the Mobile told,”From armchair at home, to drugs also weapons, documents or fake money can be bought in the anonymity of the deep web”. The barriers and guards are very strong.
During the course of the investigation, large quantities of drugs were seized including to the hundreds of thousands of euro as a result of unlawful activity and numerous computer equipment was acquired by authorities. The vendors or customers using the Darknet Markets (DNM) must be careful since it is safe to remain anonymous than exposing your identity and getting caught.
