Hacker steals 7,15,000 record from Policeone.com, which includes FBI and DHS staff member’s account. Policeone.com is a new site which holds hundreds of account used by police, law enforcement professionals, and federal agents. This sensational database is stolen in 2015 and now it is been available on the dark web for sale. Hackers selling this account details for $400 which includes usernames, passwords, email addresses, dates of birth, and other forum data.
This information is stored in MD5, which is very easy to crack nowadays. Hackers targeted this particular site and attacked their database, which is very successful and stolen the complete database of federal agents and law enforcement professionals.
The hacked account contains email addresses associated with the FBI and Homeland Security, as reported by ZDNet.
According to Deepweb-sites, Hackers are selling this data on the dark web with the name Berkut. A few sample of the stolen information are as follow.
Policeone Forum spokesperson said,
“We have confirmed the credibility of a purported breach of the PoliceOne forums in which hackers were potentially able to obtain usernames, emails and hashed passwords for a portion of our members,”
After the security breach, all the account holders on the Policeone are requested to change their passwords and other sensitive information on their accounts.
