Munich Police has arrested the administrator of the dark web website that is selling illegal drugs and firearms. He was suspected to be the one responsible for supplying a gun to the 18-year-old who killed 9 people in last year Munich Massacre.
On Monday, June 6th the police had doubt on a 30-year-old who might be running the darknet site. The boy involved in the massacre, David Ali Sonboly killed nine people and injured almost 35 people by opening fire at a shopping mall.
Later he turned the gun on himself and took his life. During the attack, he had almost 300 bullets in his backpack. He purchased the gun and the ammunition from Dark Web.
He entered into a rampage insulting foreigners and found he wasn’t involved in any terrorist group but he was under psychiatric care.
Under suspicion, a man was arrested by German authorities for selling a gun to Sonboly back in 2016 in a sting operation.Investigators began tracking the unnamed 31-year-old while pursuing unrelated cases of illegal firearms sales on the dark web.
Sonboly met the man twice, first to buy the gun and second to buy the bullets right before 4 days of the attack.
On June, 8th the officials announced the arrest of the admin of the dark web gun site on the southwest of Germany. No names have been disclosed by the Authorities and they had confiscated a server which hosted the site. In the recent times, admins of the popular dark websites are getting arrested.
