Ercan Findikoglu, the hacker who carried three cyber attacks on Automated Teller Machine, receiving $55 Million. He was caught and gets 8 years in U.S. Prison.

Highlights

  • Hacker withdraws tens of millions of dollar after infiltrated credit and debit card processing companies.
  • Ercan Findikoglu, 35, hacked ATM and went online with the name “Segate,” “Predator,” and “Oreon”.
  • He was sentenced to U.S. prison on Tuesday for 8 Years.

US District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto enquired this case for few hours and came to know that this Turkish hacker seems to serve 19 years in prison for committing cyber theft in Turkey, totally 27 years (8 years in U.S. and 19 years in Turkey).

While investigating the case, the hacker revealed his sorrow and felt bad for misusing his skills. He wiped tears while describing his anguish. Business Standard reports that the Ercan Findikoglu had gone to great lengths to obscure his cyber fingerprints and stay out of the reach of American law, according to court papers.

It wasn’t until Findikoglu made an ill-advised trip to Germany in December 2013 that he was arrested at the request of US authorities. After losing a court challenge, he was eventually extradited.
